I have had a VPN up and running for a couple of weeks and then all of a sudden it's giving me a 691 error saying the the username and/or password is not accepted on the domain.
The account is active on the VPN server, password is correct, there is an account on the DC with the same name which is also fine and active, the firewall hasn't been changed, the settings of the connection hadn't been changed...
Why would I get this error all of a sudden?

Oh, there is only one thing that I can think of that has changed since this connection was up and running. I installed Visual Studio .NET on the VPN server. But that doesn't seem like something that would cause this connection to fail...

Wendy -

When we enabled SQL Server logging of the VPN Logs it created the same error. Sounds like an MS Glitch? In our case we moved the logging option back to basic log files and everything began to work fine!
