I have a site to site VPN setup and working, except that I cannot browse all folders and files.

I can access my Novell server(all folders & files) across the VPN, but can ONLY map a drive to my Windows 2000 server. When I access one of the files or folders on my Win2K server, it timeouts saying that the resources is no longer available. What is the recommended MTU for VPN tunnels?

Is it an MTU problem?

can you ping the windows 2000 server by ip? this how to may help,

I can ping the Win2K server and I have also reset MTU settings on the Win2K server as per the above instructions. Still timeout errors. I can access any files from my Novell servers on both ends of the tunnel, so I know its a Windows issue. Just thought of something!!!

I am blocking RPC port 135, Netbios ports 137-139 and 445 on my WAN inbound interface. I can't see that affecting my IPSEC tunnel, but you never know. I'm going to disable the filters for netbios port and see if it works.

I know its been awile since my thread has been updated. I found out that there is a setting on the Windows 2000 Server that has to be changed to allow a person to access a share, or map a drive to a share across an IPSC tunnel. The person that told me this, forgets what that setting is.

It took him almost 6 moths to find it!!!!

Does anyone know what setting you must enable on a Win2K server to allow someone to browse a share or map a share???
