I've setup a Incoming VPN connection on a Win2K3 server (yes, I'm not using the RRAS...read on).

While users are able to VPN in and can authenticate, I can't seem to get them to see any of the systems on the network (likewise I can't see the connected systems from within the local network). This leads me to think I set something up wrong (doh).

I've defined the VPN connection to serve out a predefined set of IPs (192.168.1.10-20) in the VPN setup wizard as opposed to the 'Automatic' option as the DHCP service is turned off...the LinkSys router is currently handling all local DHCP requests.

I've tried to get the RRAS working but everytime I enable it, I lose most of my servers local networking capability (I can no longer see the local network).

What am I setting wrong? Do I need to have DHCP services running on the server or can I forward those requests to the router? Is this a possible configuration?

TIA

Can you see resources on the vpn server?

Start, Help. You'll be surprised what's there. A+/MCP/MCSE/MCDBA

Ummm, no (if by *resources* you mean things like drive shares and such). I can't ping the vpn server either by name or IP even though the connection is up.

I'm thinking it's IP settings on the VPN server but damned if I know exactly what it is.

The VPN client is getting one of the IP's I defined in the Incoming connections wizard and the subnet is 255.255.255.255 (versus the 255.255.255.0 local subnet).

Any ideas?
