User connects to our network from home via VPN. How can she access her network files? I had her create a shortcut on her desktop to:

\\ipaddress of server\users\username

Once she's VPNd in and clicks this link it prompts her to authenticate but it still fails. Is there a better way for her to access her data? Can she map a drive in the same manner as she would at her workstation at the office?

this may help. quoted from
How to connect to a Windows domain using Windows VPN at startup

If you are running w2k/xp pro setup for a domain controller, you will have a option to "log on using dial-up connection" on logon screen after creating a VPN/dial-up connection. In the Log On to Windows dialog box, the user can select the Log on using dial-up connection check box. After clicking OK, the user is prompted to choose a network connection.

Her home computer probably isn't a domain member. She should be able to authenticate as "domain\username".

You could create a batch file to map drives for her using the NET USE command. Look it up in the windows help, it explains it better than I could in this thread.
