I have an issue where whenever a salesperson externally call forwards their ext. to their mobiles. Whenever a customer calls in and gets transferred to the (externally forwarded) extenson there is a very noticeable reduction in the volume and one of the party's can barely hear the other. Does anyone have any ideas? I have checked with the carrier and the lines have all been tested. The calls both inbound and outbound are using copper lines, there is no PRI involved.

thanks,

know problem....CO is allowed a db loss coming in...ksu will eat a little and there is a loss going out...if trunks are dead on perfect you will have no problem...if any trunks are towards the end of tolerances you will experience a loss in volume

When a call is forwarded or transfered to and external number over copper lines you can expect this lower volume. If you were using PRI you probably not notice any difference. The only way around this on copper is to get transfer on your CO lines if the provider has this.

Same as industry issue with conference calls. A few ksu's out there do have an option to boost the gain, but most, including Nortel rely on the CO's talk bat.
