I am trying to recover file using nwrecover and I am getting

Volumes needed:
Unknown
Requesting 156 file(s), this may take a while...
NSR server `promospots': Cannot find the volume needed

The volume is promospots.085 and it is mounted. How to overcome this?

Sounds like you may have a corrupt media db.
Do a scanner on the tape and then try to recover your file.

I am seeing this during installing a new Solaris OS and the Jukebox is a different device designation. Originall is was /dev/rmt/2mbn and trying to recover from /dev/rmt/0cbn.

The change in the tape device will not have any effect to the recover. the first response was probably correct your media DB is messed up run scanner -i on the tape to rebuild for that tape and get the restore done.

kchaid,

I think that this is a bug.

What version of NetWorker you running ? Regards
KeefB
