I can only talk to another IP phone off site using my IP phone. If I use a digital phone, I can hear them, but they can't hear me. What do some of you use for the Duplex setting upder IP Options?? What about codec setting,is there a certian order they need to fall into?

As IP phone to IP phone consversion will use their phone to compress the Audio code and the CLAN for control signal only at PABX side. But IP phone to Digital phone will use the Medpro board to compress the Audio and CLAN for control at PABX side.

So pls try to check your medpro board setting is correct or not.

I have codec 729a in place and auto for duplexing. Other settings didn't seem to do any better or worse. I'm all ears people :)

You should set the TN2302AP to 100MB/Full Duplex, then go into your data switch and set the port that the MEDPRO is plugged into to: 100MB/Full Duplex, PortFast disabled. If the IP phones and the CLAN and MEDPRO are plugged into the same LAN, you have QoS enabled, and you have plenty of bandwidth, go with G711 codec uncompressed. G729 compression is used for across VPN and site to site WAN.

I'll go back and look that stuff over. There isn't any wild chance that this puppy needs a reboot is there? I doubt it, but thought I'd toss it in. Something tells me this won't work, BUT!!! if it does......Farm Out!!!!

How many CLAN and Medpro installed on your PABX or a S8xxx?
Is it your IP phone at off-site can dial outside via you PABX?

We are part of HHS and all under their network. I have a stand alone G3Si with 1 CLAN and 1 MedPro. We pass through their network to get to the remote site. The remote site still logs into our domain though. The remote site can dial out using the IP phone, but! I do not get a dial tone nor can the party being called be heard. I went through the motions of dialing outside and picked up the local pots and could hear myself speak through the IP but that's it. I will throw in that I never called back to my site to an IP phone because the people I was calling didn't have one. It wasn't til I got back and called over there did I then realize I could do IP to IP. I never had them call me, so I don't know if they are getting dial tone now or even hear it ring. I'll do that today. The phone at the other end is a 4 digit ext off our switch.

have you tried to do a list trace sta xxxx then making a call? Post your findings

In the future everything will work...

Any NAT or firewall between them ? As I know Avaya only support static NAT 1 to 1 mapping mode.

Check your gateway on the medpro. It may also help to add "no ip redirects" to your router. This addition to our router resolved the same issue you are having.
