VoIP/Vector Problem

I am also evaluating VoIP trunking between two of my G3rV9's and it works great, except for one problem I have discovered. It is a little difficult to describe, so bear with me.

When I call a multi-level menu that uses multiple vectors (i.e. the choice in the first menu goes to a menu in a second vector via a go-to vector or route-to VDN step), after I make my first choice, the PBX seems to be sending the touch-tones for the VDN that was called originally (it actually sounds like the VDN + #, but my touch-tone detectors, a.k.a. my ears, are not entirely accurate). You can hear the touch tones and the PBX treats them as caller input which causes mighty confusion.

This only happens with the new IP trunks.

Any ideas?

When you're talking about the IP-trunk I does the call come in on the first PBX, goes to the second by IP-trunk and is answered there bij a vector.

Or is the call handled in the first (normal trunk) and after the choice is routed through the IP-trunk.

Can you give me the exact version (do "newterm" and you'll see it) of the definity and how a call comes in.

We are running G3V9r.02.0.033.2

I am using these for traffic between the two G3r's that I currently carry on regular ISDN-PRI's. A typical example of what I am trying to do.

We have an automated system on PBX1, but our customer service people are on PBX2 (great planning I know). So the call comes in on an ISDN-PRI on PBX1, hits the VDN/Vector, call is routed to PBX2 via IP trunks on both PBXs then to another set of VDNs/Vectors with the prompting and skills

In a nutshell:
[PBX1 - ISDN-PRI to VDN to Vector to IP Trunk] to LAN/WAN to [PBX2 - IP Trunk to VDN to Vector/Menu1 to Vector/Menu2 to skill]

We have had the ISDN-PRI trunks to carry this traffic between the PBXs for over a year and never had this problem.

HI ctr999,

I have case when route the tie calls through ip trunk using command route to 4381234 in vdn (438 is a TAC and 1234 is Extn) the caller hearing "do" song,so I need to use the UDP replace of the route 4381235,It can solve this problem.

The other thing you can try is placing the menu in PBX 1 and after the "collect digits" route through the IP trunk to the second PBX to a VDN which directly Que's to a skill.

Also I'd ask Avaya if this problem is known.

I'll try to find out on monday.
