I have successfully set up vmail to email a number of times and am fairly familiar with the basics. This particular setup is using an email account hosted with yahoo. the outgoing server details are:
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:   smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com Use SSL, port: 465

I can load up the server address and port, but do not have any ssl settings to adjust. I set up and tested the account in my outlook and it is an active working email. How do I get the vmpro email cient in control panel to "use ssl?"

vmpro 3.2(28)

thanks

What i have done in the past is load the windows SMTP server onto the voicemail and use that to connect out to Yahoo and have the VM just use that local server.

Thanks. can you give a little more help on the smtp config. I have the smtp windows component installed on the xp pro machine I am using as my vmail server. In control panel I have the vm email client set to use the local IP address of the machine as its mail server with no auth set. The smtp server is set to allow all addresses, anonymous login and relay is also set to allow the local IP. I must be missing 1 or 2 settings because I am not getting the emails. I've stopped and started the smtp and the vmail pro services with no luck.

thanks for the help

This might help;
