Voicemail to Email VM Pro SMTP

Trying to setup voicemail to email. It's not working. What is the best way to trace to determine where the problem lies?

What and how did you setup the SMTP address and credentials?

In VM Pro: System Preferences/Email - Domain= mail.verizon.net Server= smtp.verizon.net Port= 465 Sender= name@verizon.net Server Auth= checked Account Name= name@verizon.net Password= Password

Confirm the port number. Depending on the port used (some providers use more than one), encryption may be required. If so, the IPO is not capable of encryption. Only authentication.

Strange port number for SMTP..

Firewall setup for this port? Do you use SMTP or MAPI?

Verizon uses SSL. Is there a workaround?

Try port 587.
