Hi Everyone,
I've had two IP Office systems linked via an SCN for 6 years.
Main Office = IP412 (v3.2)
Remote Office = IP406 (v3.1)

The main office has VMPRO running. We had everything working fine for years with IMS being used to sent a wav file of the voicemail to each users email account on Exchange 2003. We recently switched off of Exchange to Kerio Connect (7.3). I removed all the IMS accounts, as it needs Exchange to function. I then went in to manager and setup to have voicemail copied to email and I supplied the address. I also edited VMPro to reflect the new SMTP settings to our mail server.

All users in the main office, where VMPro is running are getting their voicemails emailed to them fine. None of the people in the remote office are getting voicemails sent to their email. I set them up the same way in Manager on there IP406 system. I don't see anywhere that I can specify an SMTP server, as the remote office points to our main office VMPro server for all voicemail.

Is there a way I can make this work without putting a local VMPro server in the remote location?

Thanks a lot for the help,
Tom

There is an extra opton in the configuration screen from the windows start panel.

Thanks for the reply. I'm afraid that's a little too vague for me to grasp. Are you saying to turn on SMTP services on the server running Manager in the remote location?
Sorry, I'm not following this.

On the VMPro server, open the control panel, there should be a Voicemail Pro SMTP icon.

his voicemail to email is working fine for the users at the main site where the vmpro server is.

its not working for the users at the remote site across the scn with centralized voicemail.

odd issue.

A friendly bump to see if I can get any more ideas on how to solve this.

Try throwing 3.2 on that remote site to at least get them to the same minor level. I know it dosen't _HAVE_ to be, but why not, its free.

TBH - I'd recommend backing up the VM Pro server and rebuilding it from the ground up. Then restoring the accounbts, messages and call flows

IMS was a complete pain to configure - teh only time I ever did it was for my ACE exam. I recall that it does wierd things with the VMpro stuff.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

One of the reasons why i canceled my ACE exam.
IMS is not used over here.
Also it was announced to be discontinued and i did not want to drive to France and go trough the tunnel and then drive all the way to Welwyn garden city.

There was more but i did not see any advantage to do it.

I wish they would bring back the ACE for IPO. Hands on tests > crap they have now.

True.
I rather do hands on tests then test with stupid sales related questions that do not make sense at all.

Avaya couldn't really care less how technically qualified it's BP's Engineers are, that's why most the questions are sales related. They want to know you can actually install one but mainly that you can sell them at the end of the day it's all about the money, probably why R8 is more about charging more for existing features and charging for currently free features than it is about new features :)

Update:
I did finally get this going. I had not realized that IMS appears to use the avaya email account (setup in Outlook) on the VM server for sending email. I know, dumb mistake; but I wasn't the original installer. Anyway, after configuring Outlook to use our new Kerio Connect server, I was able to configure users in IMS and get voicemail to email working again for those people in our remote office.

All is good....
