In the control panel options for VM pro do you have an account in the first tab? under administration in the vm pro client are you set to SMTP.

Also make sure you don't have the outlook email client open or logged in on the server/pc or that will make it fail too :-)

Yes for the first question.

And under the Mapi tab it is set to SMTP in the voicemail client

what are you sending FROM? do you have exchange server and its not allowing internal relay?

exchange 2007 needs a command added into the shell to make internal mail relaying work.

exhange 2003 is configured in the system manager.

also, if sending from voicemail@yada.com then make sure voicemail exists as an internal account for 2 reasons.

a) Exchange wont let you relay from anonymous accounts.
b) your spam filter might also not allow messages from non authorised accounts.

no exchange server.

just using our mail server provided by our web hosting people.

this was working as i have checked everything that i know to check. i know its not hard to set up, but i cant think of anything else.

should i check anyhting else???

thanks for all the help so far!!

nevermind.....got it to work.....

found out that the web hosting people changed servers and programming that required authentication. i put in the user name and password....restarted the service....and blamo..started working.

never had to do that before...

thanks for all the help.
