OK this is weird.

I have a customer that wanted professional greetings for their auto attendant.

I received the WAV files from the company that did the recordings, opened then with Audacity and checked the format. They look to be formatted correctly PCM, 8khz, 16bit mono.

I copy the WAV file to the Voicemail Pro server (Rel. 9.1.10) and add it to the Menu of the call flow. The file size shows as 234KB and 29.9 seconds in length. I save and make live. I call the call flow, it answers, the WAV file plays, sounds great.

I hang up and call back and it's just terrible noise. I look at the same WAV file, it is now 472KB in length and if I copy it back to my laptop and open it with Audacity, it is now 15 seconds in length. Then I look at the WAV file in the call flow it still says 29.9 seconds long.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

One minor correction. After copying the WAV file back to my laptop, the WAV file was still 29.9 seconds in length, but the audio portion played for 15 seconds, the rest of the 15 seconds was silence.

Ive never had this happen before.. Try setting the file permissions to read only?

I have seen it before were the bitrate was too high, it was 8khz, 16bit mono but with a bit rate of 256 instead of 128 bps
