Hi all,

I am in the process of upgrading an ip office 8.1.79(500V2) to 9.0.4 and also the voice mail (Centos) from 8 to 9.
The ip office part is fine , however the voicemail seems to be giving me a head acre.
Voice mail currently on a hp DL server and only been used for VMPro , oneX disabled. Ive downloaded the latest Application cd and wheOnXn upgrading I dont have the choice to disable any of the other applications. Considering I already have IP Office running on a 500V2 control unit.
Ive completed the upgrade and all works well - Just that now I have two instances of IP office ( One control unit and other server edition) - Will this cause an issue.

i reverted VMpro back to the previous release whereby only VMPro and oneX was installed and all full operational. I then decided to only copy the .rpm files to the centos based VM server and perform an upgrade. When busy upgrading it comes back and complains about a whole lot of dependancies that needs to be installed - Is this normal or is it suppose to be a simple upgrade.
Can one just upgrade the VMpro app or must you upgrade everything i.e watchdog , webmanager etc

Apologise for the long decription but had to include as much as i can

Login with a tool like winscp and copy the backup to the folder /opt/vmpro/backups/other backups.
Then on the 7070 page has a restore button somewhere.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thats the problem...I already copied the backup there but cannot find the restore option. When I initially upgraded , the page that displayed the restore option that also included the dns server IP addressing etc was there. Now for some reason its not. I reinstalled twice to make sure I done anything correct but still not there.

Iniitially when I performed the upgrade it installed all option and it seemed that the IP Office control unit 500 V2 was still operating as primary. Voice mail worked , restore worked.

Could I then just use that method or will having the server edition installed in the solution cause an issue at a later stage.

Here it is:

-> settings and scroll down to backup and restore.

But you can do this manually by stopping the VMPro service and put back the VMData.mdb and all the folders of the backup in the right place.
After that the service again.

SO eventually I can access the backup and restore... for some reason you have to click the "open in new link" link.

What happens now is that when I upload the backup created on 8.1 to ver 9.0.4 in the path opt/vmpro/backups/scheduled/immediate it uploads fine via winSCP

When loggin into webcontrol and clicking restore nothing happens
If i remove the backup copied via winSCP and then click restore it says " there are no backups"

If I create a new backup from the VMpro clients and add that one to /vmpro/backups/scheduled/immediate and then click restore it shows the file.

The backup on 8.1 " VMProBackup_Immediate62_2014.10.31_10.54.24"
The backup on 9.0.4 " VMProBackup_Immediate63_2014.10.31_12.57.55"

If I open the 8.1 folder is see the following - More folders i.e 2 , 4 , 8 , 16 , 32 , and two text files bckupinfo.txt and finalbackuplist.txt

If I open the backup i made on 9.0.4 i see the following - One folder named metadata and a zipped file called "VMProBackup_Immediate63_2014.10.31_12.57.55.1.tar.gz"

It seems the file format is different.

Is there a conversion tool to make the 8.1 to be restorable on 9.0.4?

Forgot to add...

If I create a new backup on the current release 9.0.4 from the VMpro clients and add that one to /vmpro/backups/scheduled/immediate and then click restore it shows the file.

Use the 9.0.4 backup.
Sometimes you need to put in the GZ or the unzipped one.
I am not sure about that :)
