I have a customer with VM Pro 9.1.3 and IP500v2 9.1.3. We are having an issue where the voicemail stops transferring calls to a Hunt Group. Callers call in to a Menu and press '1' that routes to a Hunt Group. This works fine for a while, then the system stops transferring them. Caller gets dead air and the calls do not drop in the system. I logged in and saw 5 calls longer than a day in the voicemail start point for this menu. I changed the Hunt Group in the Transfer action and then the system transferred fine to this Hunt Group. Then I changed it back to the original Hunt Group and calls transfer as they should.

This seems to work for several days then stop.

My question is, has anyone seen this? Do I need to patch them to 9.1.5? I didn't see anything in the resolved issues for 9.1.4 or 9.1.5 that address this.

how is the hunt group built when the transfers fails?

Ring is collective with call waiting. Four members all logged in. Overflow to another group after 25 seconds. Voicemail turned off.

Sounds like a bug I have never heard of this type of issue

Just for giggles, have you tried using the Assisted Transfer option instead just to see if the results are the same ?

Almost sounds like you have a clear disconnect issue and no fallback in the ICR.

This site has SIP trunks.

maybe an upgrade to 9.1.4 is in order, I know 9.1.5 is out but do not know it the latest load has any issues, 9.1.4 so far has been stable for my sites

I think your SIP trunks aren't functioning correctly then, something is stopping all SIP messages passing, the system can't hang calls for 5 days on SIP unless it ever received the disconnect message, all that happens is the RTP stream stops but the call stays active :)

Thanks for the replies and I am happy to look at the SIP trunks, but the SIP trunks are working for all other call types. Does SIP trunks explain, that this was resolved by making a change in VM Pro and then changing it back?

My thinking is the SIP trunks never got the disconnected message, because VM Pro transferred the callers to nowhere and so no disconnect message was every sent.

It's hard to say for sure how Avaya treats things these days, 4/5 yrs ago I could tell you exactly how the system would behave but not now, it's all best guess as so much is flakey :)

yeah flakey!! thank you!!

Do you have call queuing enabled on the group?

if not & the group is busy the transfer will fail but the caller gets no indication
(collective call waiting should also work but that setting is one i seriously dislike)

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
