Hello All,

IP Office 500V2 9.1.8 Voicemail Pro Matching release.

I had a customer request an easy way to change the default mailbox greeting to be an away message. I advised that they just go into visual voicemail and change the greeting while they are away. Needless to say they wanted a better solution. Here is what I have so far. I will place an absent text button on the user's phone. I will create a default start point Leave. It will point to a generic action that will get the absent state from $NAM. Then a Variable Routing with 0 and 1 as data. 0 points to a leave mail action with Caller's Mailbox checked. This will play the greeting set in the mailbox. 1 will point to a menu similar to setting the dial 0 action for a hunt group. I would like to play greeting number 2 in the voicemail pro for any other absent text state. Then have the caller record a message with Voice Question and $NAM as the extension. Does anyone have any creative way to get the voicemail to play greeting number 2 for a specific caller in the menu? I do realize I can create a leave action for every user and play a .wav file that they record. Any Help would be appreciated.

In Intuity mode each user has upto 9 different greetings to choose from by default.
Read the voicemail users manual before doing it the hard way

I did suggest using the dial up menu for intuit mode. The reply I received was," We are purchasing this advanced phone system and I have to use a technology from 1990 to change my greetings?" Hence why I am trying to come up with a more complicated solution on my end to make it easier for the customer to change their greeting on their end. Basically , they wanted a web interface to select which greeting to play. This is the next best I can think of.

Make a recording menu where they can record 2 greetings that are saved under $NAM, then based on the Absent Reason play one of those, should be doable.
You could build a web interface for it too.

Or you could move here, it's pretty much standard here that you set absence through web or mobile app and customer who calls in get to hear the reason and when you're back =)
