IPOv2 8.1(65) with UCM module.
System has been in operation for a couple of years.
Vast majority of phones are analog followed by digital.

Today, disabled Auto-create Extn and Auto-create Extn/User on System/LAN1/Voip tab.
Also for LAN2 tab.
Tightening security.

Shortly thereafter, users reported that the system now prompts them to enter their ext and password when they access there voicemail from their assigned desktop phones.
Several users also say that incoming callers being directed to their voicemail are getting "Your called has been answered by Avaya IP Office ....." instead of their personal greeting.
Others report that their personal greetings are still in place.

No changes to users Source Numbers tabs were made. No changes other than above were made.

Even though I could not correlate what I had done to the problems reported, I uploaded a previous config file to the system and rebooted.
Same problems.

Any ideas / suggestions?

Thanks

A reboot has probably triggered the rather flakey UCM to throw a bitch fit :)

Did you change that as it sounds like you where using IPOffice mode.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I am certain that I did not manually initiate a mode change from IPOffice to Intuity.
I will admit, however, that I don't know what mode it was in initially.

Update:
1) The system is still in Intuity mode.
2) After several reboots, the system no longer prompts the user for ext and password when accessing voicemail.
3) For users who report that there greetings are no longer there, they have been instructed to re-record them.

Considering amriddle01's assertion that I may have a flakey UCM, can someone point me to a URL that would provided diagnostic procedures that I can periodically run to monitor the health of this device?

Thanks

On the Avaya support site there are documents for this issues.

The best way to deal with the UCM is to stop the services and run a full fledged VmPro on a Win7 or better machine or even an Application Server. That way you don't need to buy the VmPro license and have a more reliable machine to do the work.
Sorry but we all hate the UCM here and as good as the idea of it is the constant screwups from the Avaya team have converted us to the dark side.
