How do I setup a voicemail box to just activate a greeting, then hangup. We are wanting to point a toll free number to a recording without an option to leave a voicemail.

Look at the COS (class of Service) of the voice mail box and make it a Bullentin Wisdom is Knowledge
that is Shared

Thanks All Phoneman2

What type of voicemail are you using?

Another option (especially helpful if you need to capture measurements) is to point the 800# to a VDN pointing to a vector with a step "disconnect after announcement ####".

On an Intuity Audix, you can set your voice mail types to Call Answer, Autoattendant or Bullentin on page 2. It should be similar on a Definity Audix. I have the Intuity and have done this, but it does not seem to disconnect.

Ideally, if you have announcement boards, you can do the VDN/Vector with the disconect announcement, but if you are like me, you are running short on announcement space, so you want to use the audix box as a substitute. Be careful that you do not run out of Audix ports.
