Voicemail Button

Here's the scenario:
We have a Norstar MICS 6.0 and a Call Pilot 150 and we use Nortel T7316 phone.
For some reason, the voice mail button on one of my phones got the changed to auto-dial 243.
I tried re-programming it to dial feature-981, but when I press "feature" under the button programming menu it won't let me enter 981, it won't take the 9. What am I doing wrong? I just need to set up a button to directly access voice mail, but for some reason I'm unable to.
If anyone can help I would be forever indebted o them.

you dont need to enter programing. Just go to the set you wish to program press feature *3, press the button you wish to program, then type feature 981.
