We have a couple mailboxes set to not allow leaving messages, so after the recorded name the person hears "this mailbox doesn't accept messages..."

Setting this option in VMPro the user logs in and chooses options 5,7,1.

Is it possible to set the personal greeting to play rather than the system name when you are using this settings?

Just have them log into their mailboxes, press 5 then 7 then 1. The mailboxes are set to not allow messages. This will allow them to.

Yes, you can do that.. but i believe my original question was... how to retain the ability to block users from leaving messages... but want the greeting to play rather than the system name.

Hairlessupportmonkey: that would work.. when is that a valid option? While you are recording the greeting the only option prompts are to approve or re-record.

hairlessupportmonkey: thats a great question...

How might i find that out?

Yes it only works in IPO mode, and we are running Intuity.
Could a loop be setup in VMPro?

Basically, we need to setup a hotline that parents call to find the arrival time of the vehicles that they are arrving back to our campus from a trip. Currently they call in to the extension update the greeting and parents can call in... but even when you say don't leave a message on this voicemail box in the greeting parents still leave a message... and we don't hear the messages for days until after the event is over...

So we would like an inbound call path that goes to a greeting loop and or disconnects w/out the option for the caller to record a message... with an easy way for the group admin to call in remotely and change the greeting.

cant you record a personal greeting and make it live for all calls then just make the mailbox answer only? does it not play the greeting?

Create a VM startpoint that simply points to a generic action and then loops back to itself. Have the entry prompt of the genreic startpoint recorded off of the main AA or point a DID to it.

You can create a cal flow were there is the ability to chane a wav file remotely and you can use that wav file in another call flow to play the wav file to callers.
save the below as test.mod and import in VMPro:
