Voicemail AX error

Hi

I am trying to get into a Meridian Voicemail system but I'm having some problems. I do not have a clue what I am doing and I'm following a set off instructions. After logging into the Meridain system and get the OVL000 prompt, I type AX as told but get a ERR609 appear. Any ideas what this is?

Low speed link is not defined. there must be a separte tty to get into the mail system.

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

I been curious about being able to us AX.

I got the same error Err609

I got an Opt 81c with Succession 3.

How do I specify a tty so I can use voicemail that way.
Currently I dial into either the main pbx or another number i dial into mermail.

I hate having to dial between each other.

Also is it possible to do this using Procomm I dont see an option to change the terminal type like the hyperterminal instructions show.

you can't use ax in an 81c. that command works great for an opt 11, that one hangs on the wall. you will have either an a/b switch or a different term. i use dual com ports on my pc. one for mail and one for the 81c. that leaves the modem open for remote and the nic open for telnet.. procomm can run all of them at once, and for telnet as many sec as you care to open

AX only works on an OPT 11, because you share the same interface for both the switch and the mail. With an opt 81 you have a different meridian mail system and it has it's own seperate interface for the mail, as it is basically a stand alone system with a link the switch.

works better for people who use multi login and need switch access and mail access at the same time.. i use scripts that add a voice mail, all the phone prompts and change ports and adds a the voice mail box.. works great EXCEPT i can't it to add the exten dn's.. mostly somestimes i want to add the dn on line one sometimes i don't
