Voice Menu not not answering external calls

I have set up a voice menu, and when I dial the DN internally, it works perfectly fine.

I'm confused as to the set up of an external analog trunk to reach the menu.

I've tried making the COT trunk auto-terminate on the DN, and I've tried setting up the NITE for the trunk to go to the DN, but it won't answer.

If a call comes in on the trunk and the attendant answers on the 2250, the call can be transferred to the DN. If the Voice Menu answers before the Attendant releases the call, there is not problem. If the attendant releases before the Voice Menu answers, then it disconnects the call instead of answering.

Seems there's a configuration missing which allows external answering of the DN.

What am I missing here?

in addition to this, if I change the DN on the trunk to 7000 (Access DN for Meridian Mail) it answers the call and says "your session cannot be continued at this time. please try again later. goodbye"

A valuable thing in this is to read the "SEER" messages. They will tell you what DN the system thinks came in and in turn failed. You want to add the DN it thinks is coming in to the Voice Service DN Table so it links to the menu.

Sometimes you find that adding these to the Voice Services DN Table so that they "mate" with the menu, fixes it:

DN "0"
The "ATDN" from the Customer Data Block, if it isn't zero.
The "NITE" number(s) in the Customer Data Block

Start heading that way and I bet you'll make some progress
