Hello Everyone,

We have a Startalk Voice Mail system with Meridian phones. One of my co-workers was trying to erase some voicemails because his mailbox inidcated that it was full. During this process, he thinks that he hit some buttons that he wasn't supposed to hit, and after going through this process, his voicemail will no longer pick up when someone calls him. I have tried a different phone, deleting his mailbox and re-creating it, re-recording his greeting and using his alternate greeting option. Nothing seems to help. My voicemail picked up when I switched out my phone for his, so I am wondering if possibly he changed the number of rings before his voicemail picks up? I have searched through our manuals an am unable to find this feature listed for an individual phone. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks so much!
Amy

Did you check the forwarding options for his extension?

Also, check to see if he may have activated some form of forwarding on his phone as well...

If he was only in his own mailbox, there is really nothing he can do to completely erase his phones ability to have a voice mail box. However, if you moved your phone to his jack, and your voice mail picked up, then it sounds like you have auto set relocation turned on, and you have probably changed the DN's from default, and those system DN's have become mis-numbered from the voice mail.

Auto relocation can cause problems like this, and the best way to figure out what is going on may be to call your vendor, unless you know how to check DN's against the corresponding mailbox

Achumen makes a good point with the forwarding- make sure he did not forward it some place, like your phone

Thanks for all of your suggestions! I did check the forwarding options and didn't find anything odd. I did set up his phone to forward directly to his voicemail and when I called his extension, the voicemail does pick up. I can also send him a message directly to his voicemail, but when I call it, the phone just rings and rings.
I do have Automatic Set Relocation set up because users decide to move their offces around w/out letting me know, and everything gets really messy. I tested his line w/ my extension only after we realized that his voicemail was no longer working. Hopefully I did not change the DN's.

Thanks!

Amy

try feature 980 see if that leaves him a msg. He may have deleted mailbox not msg. The reason your mailbox picked up when your phone was there is like Bkrike said set reloc is enabled

Ok now I'm confused... you're making 2 contradictary statements.

"when I called his extension, the voicemail does pick up.

"but when I call it, the phone just rings and rings."

which one is correct?

when you press feature 981. do you get pswd or log on the screen?
