Vodavi Starplus STS, receive error message when retrieving VM 2

When trying to retrieve VM, receive error stating "Your mailbox is already in use". How can we get around this without resetting the mailbox and erasing the existing messages?

If you have the STS and not the STSE and you have the inskin VM card on board, i would do a reset of the VM card,reason is your cpu battery could be low and you stand a chance of losing your system.
There is a reset button on the inskin card.
