Vodavi Starplus DHS SP7420-00 Voicemail system has a rhythmic static during playback.

This problem just started in the past couple weeks. It has gotten to the point that some VMs are now unintelligible. The static is intermittent during the password prompt, but always there during playback... Anything I should look at?

Does this happen with all users and all messages? Both internal and external calls? Try accessing your mailbox and leaving a message for another user - before send, listen to the message to determine if you hear the static.

It happens to all users. The only time there is sometimes no static, is during the prompt to enter a mail box.

If you hear static with system prompts, then it's the unit or the interface to KSU. You may try re-seating the card. If you tried accessing your own mailbox and leaving a message for a colleague (or yourself for that matter) and you heard static, then it's going to be the card or the slot.
