IPOffice 403, 3.1(48), New VMPro (8.1). Calls to hunt group hear "you are number 4-8-7-3-5 in the queue...with an approximate wait time of 5-3-6-2-3 minutes" or some such crazy numbers. Standalone system with no other VM running. Not what the cust was expecting. Any ideas?

As a note, this VMPro is on my laptop, demo mode to showcase some features requested by the cust, queuing in particular. Possibly too new VM with too old IPOffice?

It's all dependant on the system running long enough and having enough calls to give an accurate estimate, if its recently rebooted/started with low call volume the prompts will be way off....as expected :)

BTW, what was the customer expecting running a minimum 10 years system on 9 years old firmware coupled with VM Designed for a modern system... Sounds like money for old rope to me or very poor advice or a mis sold upgrade, you can't mix versions like that..did you sell this? :)

Haha, rock it baby, there are 48.735 callers in the queue, please hold the line but not your breath....
Use VM Pro 6 will be slightly better or upgrade to IP 500v2 8.1, will be a lot better.

The time in queue is a average of all callers in the last hour.
So that is why it give odd numbers.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

ETA invariably just anoys customers, either they dont get answered in 2 minutes like they are told or they get an ETA that they consider far too long. It is a no win situation.

If you are getting queue position jumping as detailed in your example then you have some serious errors in your configuration.

are you transferring the call back to the group after playing the msg, DON'T!
do you have different prioritys on different numbers that call the same group? if so then you should not be playing a queue position message,

Thanks for the feedback. No, I did not install this. This was an ebay purchase by their IT guy to upgrade a Partner ACS w/Messaging on the cheap, and since it's IP he thought he could install it. I was called in to "make it work". It's a simple AA with a test line ringing into, and a transfer to a hunt group w/queued and still queued call flow that I've used a hundred times for demo purposes. I expect the ETA to be 1 min at first but never got the list of numbers read off like this, which is why I thought maybe there's some incompatibilities with such an old system.
The good is I might get a sale to "upgrade" this system to provide the VM features that they now feel they cannot live without. The IT guy will have minimal involvement.

on the other hand i have worked with a number of great IT guys... but just as many that are awful
