Hi all,

have a slight problem with some voicemail ports. the ports are programmed as VMI's and when a call goes through to the voicemail and the caller wants to transfer back to the switch it does not work.

we have been and tested the VMI ports by plugging in a phone answering a call and then tried to transfer the call using the recall button but did not receive dial tone.
Is it possible to do this? or do we need a particular card or is there something in the system features / COR of the station that needs to be amended.

the switch is a prologix and the software is R011i.03.0.526.5

any and all help is very much appreciated

On the vmi port u need to have switch hook flash turned on on the second page. A station programed as VMI indicates that u are using mode codes to send information back and forth from the voice mail to the pbx. The setup for this kind of port can be seen in the support.avaya.com . U are looking for a manual on integration and installation of the Intuity connected to a Definity pbx. There is a separate book dedicated just to that.
