VM setup-and works but it says its not initialized

ext 222 is all setup and the vmail works
but when soemone tries a feature 980 and then ext 222 to leave vmail it reads Mailbox not intialized

any help would be appreciated

Two things:
1- How big or small is the vm cabinet and is it plastic or metal(different mails achieve access differently)?
2-Feature 983, p/w, then press 9....this is the s/w level

Ok, connect a laptop to the serial port (straight cable), 1200, 8, 1, N (I'm almost sure of the baud), open Procomm or Hyperterm, and print out reports 1 & 2 (F983, p/w, then 7 for reports). This will give you ext/mbox # assignments.

It sounds like you've been into admin (f983) programming a bit already. When you say VM is working, do you mean all the other MB's, and not x222, or do calls transferred to x222 go into a mailbox where callers are able to leave a message?

If it's the latter, I'd bet x222 has a mb assigned to it other than mb222. Take a look first at mb100. Goto MB, CHG, mb100, and press next until you see the ext assigned. If it's x222, then either re-assign the mailbox to a different ext and create a new mailbox for x222, or simply don't change anything, and instruct users to transfer callers to mb100 to reach her.

x222 as has no assignment (and when i do try and assign it 222 it says ext already in use) and mb 100 has 221 ext
yet when i call pur tel # and press x222 i get the persons vmail
when i press F980 internally it says mailbox not intialized

Go through each mailbox and modify and next until you see 222. There is no other way. It's in there somewhere, you'll just have to hunt it down.
