I have a customer with a PRI MICS & a call pilot 150 thats been in place for about 3-4 years. 1 user(the boss) has trouble consisently retrieving his messages from a cell phone. According to him , sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't(according to him, signal strength is also not the issue). I suspect impatience & fat fingers, or possibly problems with DTMF signals over cellular service, but I thought I'd ask around & see if anyone has had similar issues & if you had, what was the remedy.

I would upgrade the CP to the latest release.
That will also update the DSP firmware.
Its probably and issue with DTMF recognition via the cell provider, but at least it will give the impression that your trying to be proactive.
Upgrade only takes 5 minutes and you can do it on any laptop with a card reader.

I totally believe in his line SD.

Adversity is Opportunity

Aside from the software upgrade, are there ANY possible programming functions that could possibly be interfering with the remote access? I have installed 100's of Norstars & have never before had an issue with this before....just want to be sure that there is nothing I may have overlooked...

The only time I had this trouble, it was the cell provider; and it was not intermittent.

But you're right, sometimes the only way to convince the customer is to come out and push some buttons.

OK, My boss & I went to the customer site to do a little PR work & push some calls through. between the 2 of us we probably pushed through 100 calls or better-every one worked. On the way out of town(customer is about 75 miles away from us)we tried pushing more calls through to a test DID/mailbox. No problems to 5 miles, 10 miles out we started getting kind of hit & miss & by 15 we were completely locked out, the second star was not being recognized & we would go to the canned directory menu. Maybe 1 out of 20-30 calls would recognize the second star of the login. At 25 miles out, I noticed that we must have switched to a new tower & PRESTO!!! All logins went through the way they should....Any ideas on how to ID a cell phone tower & get the carrier to fix their problem? LOL
Thanks for all the ideas....
