wondering what programs if any people are using to ensure vmpro stays up and or restarts if it gets shut down.

1. UPS
2. UPS
3. UPS
Also I have vmpro in windows startup so whenever system reboots vmpro will start

enable power recovery in bios
put VMPro in the startup folder
and as sead before UPS for power backup (and lightning strikes)

Does it matter if it is in the startup folder when it is running as a service? I thought that one of the main benefits of running it as a service is that it will start with the PC without actually loading a program?

Thanks for the input.
I allways put on a ups and install as a service.
also tell the service to restart on close.
just started using a program called firedaemon.
Was curious what others were doing.

START
CONTROL PANEL
ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS
SERVICES
SELECT VMPROSERVICE
RECOVERY TAB
CHANGE 1ST, 2ND, SUBSEQUENT FAILURE PC'S RESPONSE TO
RESTART SERVICE
APPLY
OK

DO THIS FOR VMPRO DB SERVICE AS WELL

IT WILL RESTART THE SERVICE IF IT FAILS, BUT WILL ALSO MEAN THAT YOU WILL NOT KNOW IF THERE IS A SERVICE FAILURE ISSUE, BECAUSE THE VM WILL RESTART AND WORK. THUS MEANING IT WONT STOP WORKING AS A CLUE THE SERVICE IS FAILING REPEATEDLEY.

I DO NOT TURN IT ON RECOVERY RESTART UNTIL AFTER I HAVE HAD IT RUNNING WHILE ON SITE AT IMPLEMENTATION LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW IF IT RESTARTS VIA RECOVERY IT IS DOING SO AS AN EXCEPTION, NOT THE RULE.
IN SUMMARY, IT KEEPS THEIR VMPRO UP, BUT DOES NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE CAUSING THE SERVICE TO FAIL IN THE FIRST PLACE. SO IT IS A BAND AID, NOT A CURE.
