I'm wondering if there's a way to route calls based on whether agents have logged in or not.

I've got a customer in a severe weather area, and they want to something similar to their existing Call Pilot which has a test for "open but not logged in". They want to office to open and close with time profiles, but a message available if no one has made it in. Everyone in the office is a CCr agent, and thus must log in.

I've played around with the test variable action, but can't figure out how to get it to test for logged in users, or a lack of them. I was half hoping that the test for extensions would be usable, but I don't know if it picks up somehow that a user has logged in against an extension.

Any ideas?

thanks.

You can check a huntgroup status.
You cannot check if a user is logged in.
So i would use the group method.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I can check group status with the generic action, but doesn't this still require someone to put the group into OOS or niteservice manually? Having all the CCR agents logged out won't make the group OOS, I don't think. If having no one logged into a group made it OOS, that would solve the issue nicely. But I don't think that's the way it works.

Customer is looking for an entirely automated way of doing this. I could throw another overflow group at the end with a phantom user point at a vm pro module that simply plays a "due to unforseen circumstances...sorry, call back later" message, but that means the customer has to wait through the overflow timers to get to it (the main group has two overflow groups), and customer could also hit that recording if it was busy enough.

What you are looking for will be available in release 8. Groups will be able to overflow immediately when nobody is logged in.

You can already overflow immediately when nobody is logged in (with queueing on) by using no answer timer to make the overflow instead of the overflow timer, but this also means it only really works with collective groups :)

I think R8 is going to be an easy sellf for this customer.
