I am looking at the C110 for a cleient with 100 users. I know that it was offically released this month. Has anyone had a chance to deployed it yet? Does it just plug and play like the documentation states?

Thanks,
Frank

Hi Frank,

We have one but that was for the trials.
I needed to do a full upgrade to get it on the latest 8.0 release.
I do not know if it will be delivered with this release or not.
I guess they do.
Then it is indeed plug and play.
When you know how the Linux apps work then you know how to upgrade it.
A Major upgrade works a bit different.
On the Linux apps you can do a major upgrade, the UCM (c110) needs a full reinstall.
You need to backup VMPro and or 1XP.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Didn't have any real issues with it during trial. Worked just fine after GA and seems to be working fine in 8.1.

I can't say I care much for the pricing though you are paying $600 or just about for the computer component above what you would be paying for Preferred Edition alone. And you'll still need a Windows PC for management.

You can get a HP ProLiant for a couple hundred more and it would have more storage, faster processor and such and throw the Apps DVD on it. Then you have the ability to throw VMware on it and put Windows on a virtual machine for an all in one box.

I also can't stand the fact that it has a fan on the card. As we all know that thing is going to get covered in dust and grime after a year or so which means powering down the box, pulling out the card to blow it off. If Avaya had been smart about it they would have come up with a fan unit that attached to the side of the IP Office that would create an across the board airflow rather than a pinpoint cooling unit.

Hi Kyle,

Our sales guys say the same, it is too expensive.
Although with the discount we get on it. it is about the same as a normal PC with OS on it.
So to be a deal breaker it really needs to be prices much better.
