I am working on setting up VoIP over a couple wan links, however internally our network has multiple vlans, 1 for voice and 2 for data (server and clients). My question is if I setup 3 subint's on the Local ethernet int do I need to mirror that at the remote site which only has 2 vlans, (1 voice and 1 data). Or do router vlans strictly apply on the inside of the router and as long as there exists 2 remote vlans there will be no problem. Also do they require identical numbering schemes.
Thanks in Advance

Vlan info does not leave your local network, so you can have 2 vlans on one side, and 15 on the other with different numbers and it doesnt matter.

Vlan info can leave local network if you have trunking enabled between switches. If this a config you plan to use through out the system I would keep the VLAN's consistent.

If you aren't trunking (sending vlan info) between switches then vlan #'s don't matter.
