I have setup vlan10 and vlan 20 on two 2950 switches I also have a 2600 series router. I know I have to create sub interface on the router but my question is do I have to create a sub interface per vlan? and do I have to create a sub interface for each interface on the router that I want to route the vlan through?

Thanks

You create a subinterface for vlan you want trunked down to the 2950's from the 2600 . If you have interface F0/1 then you create 2 ( 1 for vlan 10 and 1 for vlan 20) sub interfaces under F0/1 and that is where you would define your addresses for that subnet . This will enable routing for those vlans
