Visual VM versus Embedded VM

I have a user who cant transfer messages with Visual VM but can with the embedded VM commands.

when they try the Vmail transfer in Visual vm ( 9508 sets) the VM appears to go to the other extension the message will appear and show the correct time length on the set but will not play, you only hear dead air.

if you use the embedded vm commands (*17)it works fine but the user does not like having to go to that many steps

i upgraded the software to 9.0.500 972 to see if that would fix the issue but had no effect.

visual voicemail does not play well with 9508 phones, not 100 % sure if visual voice mail is even supported on those phones

Visual voice is great on 9508 phones in my opinion.
But coming back to your original question I think there is a bug with copying the messages via visual interface on 9.0

west it was always hit or miss, somedays it would work ok, others it would not. Also I remember never record your personal greeting using visual mail as it never gave us a beep when recording the greeting.

To copy messages to another user from visual voice, I've seen that it won't work on most versions of R9.0, unless you record an introduction message to go with it. I've not seen an instance where it didn't work if you put in that intro message.
