VISUAL FOXPRO 7.0 BUG

Before installing Service Pack 1, the Report Form to ASCII command was not recognizing the _ASCIIROWS variable which sets the number of rows in the ASCII file. I kept getting rows in number lower than what is specified in the said variable.

However with the Service Pack 1 installed, I began getting more rows before the next page header, but still not in keeping with the _asciirows variable setting. In addition blank rows are appearing in the ASCII file. Unfortunately the Service Pack 1 is not address the problem. Is there another service pack.

There is not a 2nd service pack for VFP 7.0. Have you tried this in VFP 8.0? Unless you document and report this "problem" to the VFP team, it may not be fixed in even VFP 9.0. See

Thanks for the site. I was actually looking for such a site. I can't afford Version 8.0 at this moment.

When you mentioned this problem in another thread, I did a search of the Knowledge Base, but coulnd't find any reference to the bug. That suggests that Microsoft do not know about it, which suggests it hasn't been fixed in 8.0. But that's only a guess.

If you are not ready to upgrade, I'm afraid reporting the bug won't help you (though it might help others), as Microsoft will not be issuing any more SPs for 7.0.

Mike, it seems that I am duped. I just acquired V.7. It is not economically sound to upgrade so soon. I really don't have the money now. I am a very poor programmer, just trying to design software to get me out of my poverty.

You say you "just acquired 7.0" - 8.0 has been out since the end of January 2003, was it the price difference that made you choose 7.0?
