visual fox pro or visual basic

hello guys!!! CAN U HELP ME?
what is the best programming language to use is it visual foxpro or visual basic? I PLAN TO DEVELOP POS System.

Visual Foxpro is designed for database applications and is very fast in handling databases.

Visual Basic is a general purpose language that CAN handle some database activities but isn't real faat in it.

So you decide....

I work extensively on a POS system written in Foxpro. It appears to work fine and is reletively easy to modify/Update. However I don't think there would be major differences in using Foxpro or VB (just how you keep the data collected).

I do use many Activex devices, card reader, receipt printers etc.... Once again these activeX devices appear to work very similarly in VB and VF.

3-4 years ago i wrote applications in VB (3,5,6). I used databases (SQL Server and 'strange' database - Ingres)
Next 3 years (and now) i am using VFP (3 and now 6)
And i prefer VFP (especially to work with databases). But i think that VFP is usefull to another activities. With Ramani's help i wrote program with animated wishes (Christmas). I used VFP to remove password from Excel workbooks (it's necessery to check viruses). Kind regards from Warszawa!!!!!

VFP7.0 now uses a modified version of InstallShield:
