When I close my laptop, Windows goes to sleep. When I disconnect my USB mouse, it turns itself on again, even when the laptop is closed. How do I disable this automatic turn-on?

Hi,
Disconnect it when it is running..The disconnect of the USB device is an event that Windows ( all versions) responds to, so it 'wakes up'

Have a look at the Mouse Properties via Device Manager, see what options, if any, are available to you under any Power Management tab.

10x linney, I checked off the "Allow this device to wake up computer", now it doesn't wake my computer up.

Turkbear: I did not have this problem with XP, it is a new "feature" in Vista.

Hi,
Not that I know of, but I have rarely used laptops..The 'wake up' option on the mouse properties has always been there in some form...
On XP workstations (not laptops) it is phrased as 'allow this device to bring computer out of standby'
