Vista and Wireless

Hi again all, been a while... Back for some more good advice


My girlfriend has experienced this issue with 2 completely different laptops!

Unfortunately my girlfriend and I have to spend quite a bit of time apart and she lives away from me often... She has an Acer Laptop that she uses when she is with me (Via an ethernet connection to my PC (ICS method of internet connection)
And then she uses wireless when she is away... (same place each time)

Her wireless connection works absolutely FINE when she is away.

After she has visited me and plugged in via ethernet the wireless no longer works when she has to leave.

Its almost like the laptop 'forgets' that its ever connected with the wireless connection at her place away!

She gets 'limited access' issues...

Historically a friend of ours has fixed it for her... This time they are not around to help and we need a solution to this and an explanation of why vista is so INCREDIBLY stupid when it comes to this issue!!

Can it not simply remember 2 wayts it connects to the net???

Any light that can be shed on why this may be happening will be greatfully apreciated...

Are all machines running Vista?

Can the Vista Diagnose and Repair from the Network Sharing Center fix the problem if you run it?

Does typing Netsh Winsock Reset at a Command Prompt fix it?
