I came up with a pretty good solution for remote users (yeah, I'm sure someone else thought of it before), but I bought a powerful PC with 12GB RAM and setup five XP Virtual PC's.

On each of those VPCs I installed LogMeIn, and now my remote users can access their "desktop" without worrying if someone else is using their computer at the office.

Works pretty well, except on some of the VM's I can't even get basic sound to work, and I'm using LogMeIn Pro, so it should work.

Was wondering if others here have done something similar and how it worked out for them?

Does the sound work on those Virtual XP machines if you uninstall LogMeIn?

Does the sound work if only ONE virtual XP machines is running?

The sound doesn't work with or without LMI.

I haven't tried just running one VM at a time to see if it then works, but will try that just to see.

Thanks for the suggestion.

But if that solves it, then unless there is a resolution to that, then that's no good for me because I need to run several at a time.

The sound isn't a huge issue, but I'd like it to work.

Once you get sound working on a virtual pc that doesn't currently have sound, you may be able to track down the reason as to why the others are working. That's why it's important to get one vitual pc's sound to work.
