Ok I am hoping i can get some help with this, as of now I am stumped.
We have just installed an IP Office at a residential clients home.
System an IP500V2 8.1 with fifteen 9508 Phones and Essential Edition. No real plan on using voicemail though.
NOTE: We chose to run in IP Office Mode as compared to Basic/Partner Mode since you can not have Analog extns (Analog Cordless phones) ring in group mode together with digital extns in Basic mode.
Issue is with Door Boxes.
Using Viking E10's hooked up to an analog Extn. Extn is set with a short code of ?D to dial 44 which is a collective ring group for the phones we want to ring when someone presses the door phone.. This all works fine.
3 Issues.
1. Really need a different ringer, or doorbell style sound when someone rings the door phone. Otherwise the customer has to get up and look at a phone just to see that someone is ringing the door.
2. Bigger is is, the call never times out. If someone rings the door and no one answers the phone, but instead goes and answers the door, the door box outside stays on speaker ringing, and the phones int he house keep ringing. while this is less of an issue when someone is home, its a huge security risk when someone is not. It could ring for days and be a clear sign to an intruder that no one is home.
3. How do we get caller ID to work with call waiting call? Both on digital phones and on analog cordlesses.
Any thoughts on how to resolve these issues?
