hi,

is there someone who knows how I can dissable the 'view source' button in the browser. I know it exists, cause I've seen it somewhere..

seti-

As far as I know, it is impossible to change anything about the original browser window due to security issues (view source included, unfortunately)

I presumed so,

but I've seen it more than once..

You can't. The only time you'll see the "View Source" option greyed out (in IE anyway) is if the page hasn't finished loading.

Greg.

Oh Oh.. Here we go with a View Source thread that will hang around for days and won't die until it gets about 300 responses. LOL

Hey seti.. Couple of tricks. They're getting stale, but I just thought you'd like to be amused.

#1: Go to and search for Right Click. You'll get some different tips on disabling right click on the browser window. That still leaves Source as an option in the View menu and that, my friend, you can do nothing about.

#2: Place this on the first line of every HTML document.
<!-- View Source Hidden -->
Then you can place about 300 blank lines or so between that and your original document.

Believe it or not, there are still a few programmers out there who won't bother to scroll down LOL, but most people today are aware of that. I have to admit, I still use it because it's better than nothing and you can't fault me for trying.

See what that looks like when you view source after implementing that neat, but old, little trick.

Hope this helps, and please everyone, LET THIS THREAD DIE !! s-)
