Is it possible to programatically get a list of the reports for a database without opening it?

Cheers.

Hi

Do you mean opening the database or opening the report(s)

The Documents collection should give you a list of reports (including those not currently open), but you would need to have the db open to access it

You may (I have not tried it) be able to link to the system table of objects (MSysObjects I think it is) and then run a query on that picking out the report names. But even that is I suppose opening the database in that no otehr user could have exclusive use of it during the process

Hi Ken,

I meant without opening the database or the reports, just getting a list of whats there.

put this in the row source of a combo box.

Select Name FROM msysObjects WHERE Type = -32764 ORDER BY name

Thanks,

PROXI
