I have installed XP Service Pack2 with the popup blocker at the default settings, where it is turned on. It is effective and when a popup is blocked I receive an informational message. The information bar at the top says Popup Blocked To see this popup or additional options click here. When I click on the information bar my only options are to temporarily allow popups for the site, always allow popups for the site, or change the settings. There is no option to view the popup that has just been blocked. How can I view the popup that was blocked?

To temporarily allow popups, press and hold CTRL when you click on the link.

It's just that the information bar said:
Popup Blocked. To see this popup or additional options click here.
Seems to say that there is a way to view the blocked pop up.

There is nothing to view if it was blocked.

Am I missing something here? If there was nothing to view - then there would not have been a pop-up attempt - and it wouldn't have been blocked!!

However as there was a pop-up that was blocked there must have been something.

IE should not block pop-ups when you actually click on a link that triggers the new IE window. Only if the site generates the pop-up automatically. The only way to view these pop-ups is the select the "Temporarily allow pop-ups for this site" option. This will allow the specific site to pop-up new IE windows for the duration of the IE session. As soon as you close out of IE the ability for that site to pop-up new IE windows will be lost.

If it is allowed it can be viewed. If it's blocked it shouldn't be on your system.Maybe I'm missing something. LOL
New year I am easily confused.. :)

I am sorry about not explaining my original question as clearly as I should have. Here's what I was hoping would happen. I go to a site while the popup blocker is 'on'. I get the Popup blocked message. I click on something that lets me see the popup that was blocked.

I know I can temporarily allow popups through for a site, but I have already missed the one I wanted to see when I first got to the site. The message on the information bar seems to say there is a way to see that blocked popup. Is there?

This happened with me a couple of times when trying to download some drivers.
As I select the option "Temporarily allow popups", on some sites it displays the popup window that was blocked, while on others I have to refresh or click again the link that resulted in displaying the popup.

Hope that helps.

Nice...maybe we can make this work.
Challenge to self..LOL
marchristensen couldn't you goto the page source and get the popup's property's and see the info?

Some windows are not blocked: Pop-up Blocker is smart enough to not block pop-up windows that you open deliberately by clicking a link—for example, if you were on a travel reservation site and you clicked a link to open a pop-up window containing your confirmation details, this pop-up window would not be blocked because you opened it intentionally."

Reading the above the logic may follow that IE is not smart enough to show the first random pop-up if you have pop-ups blocked.
