i'm trying to capture video stills from my dvd player. i have windows media player and several other video players.
what i've been doing is stoping the video at the desired frame then hit shift-print screen. but when i "paste" all that shows is a black screen or a copy of the player with a black screen

can someone tell me how to do video captures?

if there is a better forum for this question please direct me

i always donate!

There is software to do this. Media Player is more of a PLAYER than a capture utility.

The answer is "42"

@Franklin - I think what he wants is a SCREEN CAPTURE, not Video Capture, which is a totally different ball partk...

@captmarvel - Both VLC and Media Player Classic, have a Screen Print (Capture) ability built in, which can be done at a key stroke... both these players are freeware...

VLC

Media Player Classic

Most DVD players have screen capture options. Windows Media Player on the other hand does not.

Have you tried another player? I use PowerDVD that came with my DVD drive.
