with 5.8 and above, Solaris Volume Manager comes with the distribution.
It has had several names, but is essentially the same:
Solstice disksuite or Solaris Volume Manager.
Here is the sun docs link, but I use various tutorials for the finer points:
And of course one can buy Veritas Volume Manager, a fine product.
