I have recently recompiled a 2.6a .exe using VFP6.0 (SP5). A client has been running it on an NT server with mostly NT workstations without a problem both before and after the upgrade. However, one of his users has Windows 95 and now receives the error "File vfp6r.dll is invalid or damaged" when he tries to run it. I had the user search his PC for a copy of vfp6r.dll which he did not find. I also had him copy the vfp6r.dll and vfp6renu.dll down off the network into his \Windows\System folder and he still received the same message. All of the other users simply have a shortcut to the .exe on the server with no other changes to their workstations from before the conversion.

Any thoughts? Thanks

This is one of the problems with "just copying" some runtime files - you really need to run a Setup / Install program to make sure that all the related system files are also updated. For some additional files to check, go to "INFO: Visual FoxPro 6.0 Required Run-Time Files". Note that this was written for the base release of VFP 6.0. You can check for the current versions of these files on a machine with SP4 (or SP5) installed and see what may need to be updated.

If you use any data controls you may need to update the MDAC - and if you use WSH you may need to add this -
