I made an app from a previous app because different clients wanted different twists of the same application. In each application, I use the 'copy to' command. In both applications, they worked fine. Now all of a sudden, the second application is giving me an error on every 'copy to' command: Error 1002 Input/output operation failure. Since the calls are exactly the same in each application, it can't be the line of code, but something else. Both are stored in the same system. What do I look for?

Thanks

As error rushed more computers,
you may exclude hardware mistake.
Probably you are not right "same system".
(I used "copy to" net drive for years
with client SP3 NT4.0.
The moment SP4, I forced "copy to" local drive
and then "copy file" to net drive...)

This could be due to the data path (any chance the failing situation has one or more embedded spaces?), or security restrictions. What is the exact syntax of your COPY TO command? Are you copying between relatively different speed drives? (e.g. HD to ZIP)

Rick

RE: exact syntax of your COPY TO command? I had used macros and you're right - since I changed computers, the path changed. Thanks
