I have been using VFP 6.0 for a number of years. Believe it or not I have not applied a Service Pack.

My apps are running great. However, I may have found an issue that requires the latest service Pack. How do I get the latest Service Pack and what issues (problems) might I encounter if I apply that Service Pack. Is it pretty tame?
Will it affect my existing apps.

Thanks

Isn't there one all inclusive Service Pack that incorporates all of the updates or do I have to install each those listed on the downloads page.

Normally the lastest service pack (In your case SP5) will contain all the previous servcice packs.

I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) you have to first instlal SP4 before installing SP5. I think (memory serves me well) I had to first apply SP4. I tried with SP5 and it informed me to apply 4 first.

Check it out.

As far as I know the only real requirement is MDAC2.5 which would have been inclusded in SP4, but it is available a separate download also:
4.1. Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 5 requirements
The following products are required for this service pack:

Microsoft Data Access Components 2.5
The following products are strongly recommended for this service pack:

Internet Explorer 5.5 Internet Explorer 5.5 is available on the Service Pack CD. To install, run IE5Setup.exe from the \IE5 folder under your language folder. In addition, Internet Explorer 5.5 is strongly recommended for Visual InterDev.
Microsoft® Windows NT® 4.0 Service Pack 4 Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 is available from the Microsoft Windows Update page.
Specific product installation requirements
Some Visual Studio 6.0 products have specific installation requirements for Service Pack 5. Click one of the following product names to view its specific installation requirements.

Visual Basic
Visual C++
Visual InterDev
Visual J++
4.2. Installing Microsoft Data Access Components 2.5
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.5 is required for Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 5. If you do not have MDAC 2.5 installed, you must install it before installing the service pack. The Service Pack Setup will inform you if you must install MDAC 2.5.

Because MDAC 2.5 is a system component, you must install a language version matching your system's language setting. If you inadvertently install a language version that does not match your system's language setting, reinstall the appropriate MDAC 2.5 for your system's language setting.

I aggree with Mike, I've installed a number of systems with VFP 6.0 SP5, and unless they aren't up-to-date (Note: XP IS), the only thing you have to "worry" about is the MDAC, and SP5 will prompt you if it thinks you need it!

OK so where do I get Service Pack 5?

Thanks
