Vertical Text in forms/reports

Hello,

Why does Access make the text point down when you choose Vertical text? Is there a way to change it so that users read it from bottom up (like most vertical text boxes).....

Right now it looks very confusing and backwards (and the users hate it) but I've told them that I can't find an option to alter the text so it reads South to North.

Any suggestions ?????

Would any option work? I saw something about Win NT...if I'm on NT running Access 2000 - which option would I choose?

Is it something that's supposed to run?

I was thinking there'd be code for Access specifically - but is it an Active X thing?

I have just installed one of the options and followed this set of instructions - everything worked great!
Instructions:
'***HOW TO CALL THIS FUNCTION***
Add a Custom Menu Item to the standard Toolbox or to the Standar Menu Bar.
Right Click with your mouse on a blank area of the Toolbox or the Menu bar.
From the dropdown menu select "Customize".
A dialog window named ' Customize"
pops open with 3 tabs. Select the second tab named "Commands".
This Window is divided into 2 subwindows. On the left is "Categories" on the right side is "Commands" .
Make sure the first item "File" on the left hand ' window
is selected. Now in the right hand window you should see the item "Custom".
Scroll the window up or down if it is not visible.
Now with your left mouse button click - hold - drag and drop the "Custom" item onto the Standard Toolbox or Standard Menu Bar. Release the mouse button.
The "Modify Selection" button is now available. Click on it.
Change the "NAME" property to ROTATE or whatever you want.
Now select "Properties".
In the "On Action" property fill it in exactly as below with the name of this function. =fRotextEMF()
That's it. Click "Close" then "Close" again.
Now Click once to select the Label containing the text "RotateLabel".
Finally Next Click on your new Menu Item (Whatever you named it).

Hi Stephen - I followed your directions and it says:
The expression you entered has a function name that Microsoft Access can't find.

I ran the setup.exe in the top file before adding the control to the toolbar.

Is there a specific folder a file needs to go into?

There should be a module called modRotateEMF which has all the workings but it appears the form you are making cannot find this. Check in Modules to see if it there.

I am assuming u mean in the Modules section of my database?

There are no modules there. Is there a specific line of code that it should have????

I think I'm getting closer to a resolution because I created a button on the toolbar called Rotate - but when I click a text box and then click the Rotate box - all it does is copy and paste the text box I clicked on.

I didn't modify =RotTextwmf() (I think that is what it is called). It is in the modules section of my Access 2000 database.

What could be wrong? Isn't it supposed to ask me what degree I want to change the text to???

No rush on an answer - but I had a discussion with the guy I'm working on the project for and he wants the text rotated the other way...why does Access rotate their text so weird????? ugh
